JOB SUMMARY
•Taylor Machine Works, a leading manufacturer of heavy industrial equipment, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Maintenance Supervisor to oversee all maintenance operations at our manufacturing facility. The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, safety, and reliability of all plant systems, including buildings, HVAC systems, machining equipment, fabrication equipment, and other critical infrastructure. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to managing preventive and corrective maintenance programs to minimize downtime and support production goals.•
RESPONSIBILITIES
•Plan, direct, and supervise all maintenance activities for plant facilities, including buildings, HVAC systems, machining equipment (e.g., CNC machines, lathes), fabrication equipment (e.g., welders, plasma cutters), and other industrial systems.
Manage and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, including scheduling, training, performance evaluations, and fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
Develop, implement, and monitor preventive maintenance schedules to ensure equipment and facility reliability, reduce downtime, and extend asset life.
Diagnose equipment failures, coordinate repairs, and ensure timely resolution of maintenance issues to support production schedules.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and industry standards. Conduct regular safety audits and training to maintain a safe working environment.
Manage maintenance budgets, track expens es, and oversee inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies to ensure cost-effective operations.
Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs, equipment installations, or facility upgrades, ensuring quality and adherence to specifications.
Identify opportunities to improve equipment efficiency, recommend upgrades or replacements, and oversee installation projects.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and work orders using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Prepare reports on downtime, costs, and performance metrics for management review.
Work closely with production, engineering, and quality control teams to align maintenance activities with operational needs and minimize disruptions.
Implement lean maintenance practices and contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce waste.•
QUALIFICATIONS
•High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of industrial equipment, including CNC machines, fabrication tools, HVAC systems, and electrical systems.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and bluepri ts.
Experience with CMMS software (e.g., SAP, Maximo, or similar) for maintenance tracking.
Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team of maintenance technicians.
Preferred certifications include CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional), OSHA 10/30, or HVAC certifications.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose complex equipment and facility issues .Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members, management, and external vendors.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work in industrial environments, and occasionally work at heights or in confined spaces.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or evenings, to address emergencies or production needs.•
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•Experience in heavy equipment manufacturing or a similar industrial sector.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
Knowledge of PLC programming and industrial automation systems.•
