The purpose of this temporary position is to provide service for customers with the City of Concord by reading water and electric meters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ø Reads water and electric meters.
Ø Prepares and maintains a variety of records and/or logs related to daily activities, inventory, and/or other related items.
Supplemental Functions:
Ø Performs other similar duties as required.

Knowledge:
Customer service principles
Recordkeeping principles
Basic mathematical concepts
Safe work practices
City and county streets.
Licensing and Certifications:
Valid North Carolina Driver’s License.

Working Conditions /
Physical Requirements:
Positions in this class require: standing, fine dexterity, walking, lifting, carrying, sitting, reaching, handling, kneeling, vision, foot controls, bending, crouching, hearing, twisting, talking.
Medium Work:
Exerting 20 – 50 pounds occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly. Incumbents may be subjected to extreme temperature, wetness and/or humidity, respiratory hazards, noise and vibration, physical hazards.
Required Skills

Preparing a variety of reports and/or logs

Required Experience
High school diploma or equivalency, with at least one (1) year of relevant experience; or the City may consider an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
