Job Summary:

Sudberry Millwork LLC is seeking a skilled and dedicated Millwork Craftsman to join our team. This role is essential to producing high-quality millwork, cabinetry, casework, and custom woodwork for our clients. The ideal candidate is experienced in woodworking and comfortable working with a variety of tools and materials to create precision products that meet detailed specifications. They will work closely with project managers, drafters, and the shop foreman to ensure projects are completed on time and meet our exacting standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Craftsmanship and Fabrication:

Fabricate and assemble custom cabinetry, casework, and millwork based on provided designs, drawings, and specifications. Execute precision cuts, joints, and finishes to produce pieces that meet design requirements and quality standards. Operate various woodworking equipment and hand tools, including saws, sanders, planers, routers, and joiners, to produce custom millwork.

Material Handling and Preparation:

Select and prepare wood and other materials, inspecting for defects to ensure they meet quality standards. Perform accurate measurements and cuts to optimize material yield and reduce waste, working closely with the CNC team to align material needs. Follow established procedures for material handling, storage, and inventory management.

Quality Control and Finishing:

Perform detailed inspections of completed products to ensure they meet quality specifications and client expectations. Apply appropriate finishes, stains, and protective coatings to completed woodwork to achieve the desired aesthetic and durability. Conduct final quality checks to ensure each piece is ready for installation, coordinating with the Project Manager for any modifications needed.

Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with project managers, drafters, and the shop foreman to clarify project requirements and resolve any design or construction issues. Communicate any changes or adjustments needed to drawings with the design team to ensure a smooth workflow. Participate in project kick-off meetings as necessary to understand scope, timelines, and any special requirements.

Maintenance and Safety:

Ensure proper maintenance of woodworking equipment, tools, and shop environment to maintain a safe and efficient workspace. Adhere to all safety procedures and use appropriate protective equipment when operating machinery. Assist in keeping the workshop organized, clean, and fully stocked with materials

Qualifications Qualifications:
Experience:

Experience in millwork, cabinetry, or custom woodworking. Proven experience in fabricating custom cabinetry and millwork in a production or workshop environment.

Skills:

Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders. Skilled in the use of woodworking equipment, including saws, routers, sanders, and planers. Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines without compromising quality. Strong communication skills to work effectively with team members and follow project specifications.

Additional Requirements:

Knowledge of material properties, finishes, and construction techniques related to millwork and cabinetry. Physical stamina and ability to lift and handle heavy materials.
