Job Description

Reference #: 704900049The Paint Technician is responsible for preparing and painting transformer units. Compliance with all safety requirements, product quality standards and company policies are essential functions of this role. Hours are Friday-Sunday 12-hour shift with guaranteed 40 hours.

Review checklist and follow work order instructions to ensure compliance with specificationsAssess units prior to painting and check for issues (defects, leaks, etc.), escalate defect issues to lead or supervisor if discoveredMix paint and ensure the viscosity is consistent with specificationsAs needed replace paint in pots/drumsEnsure paint guns are all in working order and spray pattern consistency is correct prior to painting the equipmentIf needed clean unit off accordingly by air or tack clothApply primer and paint as required to comply with quality expectationsAfter primer and paint is complete look over unit to ensure quality expectations are metIf unit is dissembled spray unit parts as requiredOnce unit is complete move to final assemblyFollowing all safety protocols which includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), respirator, glove, safety glasses, etc.

Maintain safe, clean and orderly workstation and area.

Other duties assigned as needed.

High School or GED preferredOSHA10 certified, preferred1 year experience in paint manufacturing, preferred1 year experience material handling equipment (forklift, crane, etc.), preferredKnowledge of basic hand tools preferredA proven track record in safety excellence is required.

Adheres to all safety and environmental compliance regulations set by the organization. Notify management immediately of any safety concerns, hazardous conditions, or injuries.

Ability to read and interpret work orders.

Meet department and production goals set by supervisor.

Ensure product quality meets company and client expectations.

Possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, cooperative attitude, strong attention to detail and can work in a team environment.

Adheres to the company’s employee handbook policies and embodies the organization’s core values.

Ability to learn other department job functions and fill in as needed.

Complete company compliance and safety training when required.

Ability to work a flexible schedule and work under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.

Physical requirements for this role include, but are not limited to the following:
