The Kearney Companies is a Site & Utilities Contractor based in Riverview, FL. Locally owned and operated, we have been in business for over 65 years; we offer competitive pay and excellent benefits. Recent growth has led to opportunities to join our established civil construction company in the Tampa/Riverview area.
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to operate and oversee the daily operations of a pug mill, a machine used for mixing soil and cement to create road base material. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn. While experience is preferred, we are willing to train the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain the pug mill to ensure consistent production.
Monitor material mixing to meet quality specifications.
Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on the equipment.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and coordinate repairs as needed.
Ensure a safe and efficient work environment by following company policies and safety protocols.
Maintain accurate records of production, material usage, and maintenance.
Work collaboratively with team members to meet project deadlines.
Requirements
Experience in operating heavy machinery (preferred but not required).
Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment.
Strong leadership skills and ability to work independently.
Must have a clean driving record.
Willingness to learn and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
Pay:
Competitive pay based on experience. Full benefits are available after 60 days and 401k with a company match for 12 months.
