Custom Furniture Fabricator & Fine Woodworking Craftsman The Material Reserve 165 Trade Street, Bogart, GA 30622 We’re hiring a seasoned Custom Furniture Fabricator & Fine Woodworking Artisan to join our workshop. This is a hands-on role for a highly skilled craftsperson with a passion for creating refined, custom-made furniture and restoring unique pieces with precision. You’ll work in a professional shop environment with premium hardwoods and advanced tools to craft exceptional work that blends function, beauty, and lasting quality.
What You’ll Do:
Build handcrafted furniture from scratch, using solid hardwoods and high-end materials with an emphasis on quality and longevity. Restore antique and modern furniture while preserving historical detail and integrity. Operate professional woodworking tools and machinery—table saws, planers, jointers, sanders, and CNC equipment—with safety and precision. Translate technical drawings, blueprints, and sketches into physical pieces with exact dimensions. Select and prep lumber with close attention to grain, color, and stability for premium visual results. Apply refined finishing techniques including staining, sealing, lacquering, and hand-rubbed oils or waxes. Execute complex joinery using both hand and power tools to achieve flawless fit and structural durability. Maintain a tidy, well-organized shop and adhere to safety standards at all times. Collaborate with designers and clients to understand creative direction and achieve design goals. Solve problems and troubleshoot challenges throughout fabrication or restoration to maintain high standards.
What You Bring:
Expert-level furniture-making experience, with a strong grasp of classic and contemporary woodworking techniques. Mastery of joinery, finishing, and custom fabrication. Strong background in machinery and hand tool usage, including experience with CNC equipment. Ability to understand and follow detailed plans, specs, and client feedback. Keen eye for detail and proportion, with a natural sense for design and materials. Solid problem-solving skills and self-management in a deadline-driven environment. Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
