Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a Suppression Fill & Assembly Operator to join our 1st shift team in Ashland, MA. In this role, you will be responsible for cylinder filling and valve assembly processes, as well as a variety of small bench or precision electromechanical assembly and machine operations. You will work on producing fire suppression panels and other related assemblies that play a critical role in ensuring safety and protection.

Key Responsibilities:

Fill pressurized cylinders and assemble valves to meet specified customer requirements. Ensure all cylinder fills meet pressurization and leak testing standards. Follow instructions from route sheets, blueprints, verbal instructions, and manufacturing engineering specifications to complete tasks while maintaining high-quality standards for both appearance and functionality. Take responsibility for the quality of your work and perform duties with precision and attention to detail. Assist with training and mentoring other team members as directed by the lead worker, supervisor or manager. Conduct leak testing and inspections, using judgment to identify and resolve issues within standard operating procedures. Perform minor setup operations, monitor output, and make adjustments as necessary. Utilize standard hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, wrenches) and equipment, along with specialized tools for intricate assembly and adjustments. Maintain accurate records of operations and processes. Move materials as required to facilitate production tasks. Report any issues such as improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials, or unusual conditions to the lead or supervisor. Keep work areas and equipment clean, safe, and organized at all times. Adhere to company policies, safety protocols, and environmental regulations. Participate in EH&S training programs and actively contribute to achieving organizational EH&S goals. Recommend improvements in EH&S practices and ensure a safe working environment. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Experience & Skills:

Demonstrated expertise in cylinder filling using the Mass Flow System. Ability to pressurize cylinders up to 675 PSI using the Mass Flow system. Experience in valve and cylinder assembly processes. Knowledge of leak testing and calibration procedures. Ability to use JDE and process tasks through Configurator. Experience in offloading FM 200 Chemical Agent and handling associated paperwork. Skilled in reworking and reclaiming agent cylinders from customers. Electro-mechanical assembly experience.

Physical & Personal Attributes:

High attention to detail and proficiency with basic math. Ability to stand and work for the duration of the shift. Commitment to maintaining a 5S work environment and following all safety protocols. Ability to read and interpret detailed instructions, blueprints, route sheets, sales orders, and specifications.
