As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for the set-up, operation, and maintenance of screw machines used in the production of high-quality fasteners. We are committed to your success, and for this reason, you will be paired with a mentor. You will undergo certified training that has been approved by the state of North Carolina for training in operating multi-spindle screw machines, receive additional hands-on training from experienced Screw Machine operators, and attend on-site training and quality classes.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate screw machines in accordance with production specifications and quality standards. Troubleshoot machinery performance issues and adjust as necessary. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of screw machines to ensure optimal performance. Work with the production team to achieve daily production targets, meet tight deadlines, and maintain a high level of quality. Accurately record production data and provide regular reports on performance to management. Comply with all safety regulations and practices and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent Minimum of 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment as a Screw Machine Operator is a plus but is not required. Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain focus over long periods. Strong work ethic and proven track record of being reliable and punctual.
Preferred:
Familiarity with micrometers, calipers, and other hand tools. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Experience with Davenport screw machine.
Physical requirements:
Must be able to stand throughout an 8 to 12-hour shift. Must be able to bend forward and stretch to reach into the machine as needed to perform the job duties. Must have visual acuity to read micrometers, inspect small parts, and adjust tooling. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. 10 times during an 8-hour shift. Occasional lifting of up to 75 lbs. may be necessary. Near vision must be at least 20/30.
