$41.2K – $51.8K a year 1 day ago Qualifications Soldering English Mid-level High school diploma or GED Assembly Algebra Manufacturing Hand tools 2 years Mechanical knowledge Full Job Description Execute workorders to build assemblies and sub-assemblies be used for radiation detection and associated systems. Mounted and unmount detector diodes in standard assemblies. This will involve reading drawings and executing work instructions to prepare and construction electronic and mechanical cryostat assemblies. Additional duties include working with vacuum systems, and cryogenic equipment, handling and assembling of ultra-high vacuum cryostat components, and performing routine maintenance of assembly related equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Leak testing cryostats, dewars, etc. Building and evacuation of various cryogenics hardware. Mounting and unmounting detector diodes in cryostat assemblies. Cleaning hardware. Soldering. Follow priority schedules. Epoxying vacuum components. Maintaining stocks / supplies. Maintaining Equipment. Work with Engineering to identify and correct problems. Inspect manufactured items for cosmetic, workmanship, soldering, conformance to drawings, and quality standards. Following defined quality assurance practices for drawing and procedure execution. Assist team members and provide support.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Constructing ultra-high vacuum cryostat assemblies. Building auxiliary sub-assemblies. Assisting in executing regular inventory audits. Cleaning and organizing work areas.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrated ability to assemble and test cryogenic mechanical components. Demonstrated ability to follow blueprints and written procedures. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to assemble electronic components. Demonstrated ability in algebra mathematical skills. Demonstrated ability to convert between English and metric measurement units. Demonstrated knowledge of the assembly-related chemical handling procedures. Demonstrated soldering skills. Operational knowledge of vacuum system and leak testing principles. Knowledge and use of basic hand tools.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Inspection experience, some microscope usage. Understanding of the Mirion inventory and work order management systems as it relates to assembly functions. Understanding of germanium detector operational principles. Troubleshoot cryostat assemblies for electronic noise and/or microphonic susceptibility
AMOUNT OF EXPEREINCE REQUIRED
2 years mechanical assembly or related manufacturing experience.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent. Experience Required 2 years mechanical assembly or related manufacturing experience.
