This may include tasks like trimming leads, labeling, packaging, and completing basic mechanical assembly. You’ll follow work instructions closely, use hand tools and small equipment, and help ensure that finished products meet quality standards. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys hands-on work, has good attention to detail, and thrives in a team-oriented environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/FUNCTIONS
Execute secondary assembly tasks, including but not limited to soldering, crimping, wiring, and mechanical assembly, following strict guidelines and specifications. Operate machinery and hand tools proficiently to assemble electronic components and products, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Perform quality checks on assembled components to verify conformity to quality standards and customer requirements. Collaborate with the production team to optimize workflow and troubleshoot any assembly issues that may arise during the manufacturing process. Adhere strictly to safety guidelines and protocols while working with tools, equipment, and hazardous materials to maintain a safe working environment. Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and tools to ensure a productive and safe working environment. Document assembly procedures, adjustments made, and any issues encountered during the assembly process for future reference and continuous improvement purposes. Follows 5S procedures. Other job-related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma/GED Proficiency in using assembly tools, soldering equipment, and reading technical drawings or schematics. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions and quality standards Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being capable of working independently with minimal supervision Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot assembly issues effectively Knowledge of safety procedures and precautions related to handling tools, equipment, and hazardous materials
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Technical certification or relevant vocational training Proven experience in secondary assembly operations within an EMS manufacturing or related industry.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Typical working conditions at Kitron are indoors, safe, well lit, temperature controlled, low exposure to noxious fumes or offensive odors, clean and sanitary conditions with average light industrial noise. Production areas have machinery with moving parts. Static dissipative smock, and shoes are required. Offices with locking doors, meeting rooms, and common printing areas are well lit, clean, low noise, and temperature controlled with no exposure to noxious fumes or offensive odors.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This role requires the ability to sit for extended periods (approximately 75% of the time), with regular standing and walking (25% each). Candidates must be able to communicate clearly, comprehend, and speak English. Near vision and manual dexterity are essential, as the role involves frequent use of hands and fingers for detailed tasks. Steady hand and arm movements are required for precision work.
