MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
Manages the manufacturing operations organization at the site which includes all production supervisors, operators, and manufacturing line support engineers to meet production output targets, ensure product availability, drive unit cost improvement, meet new product introduction schedules all while enhancing product quality and meeting all compliance requirements.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, establish, and maintain strategic objectives and operational goals for manufacturing. Champion continuous improvement and embed Operational Excellence principles within Manufacturing as the foundation of the culture. Ensure quality and compliance is of the highest priority within manufacturing and that product meets all design, manufacturing, and regulatory requirements. Ensure a safe work environment consistent with OSHA requirements and Abbott policies. Prepare departmental budgets and control expenditures to stay within spending limits. Drive unit cost savings as well as other gross margin improvement initiatives within manufacturing and the site. Develop key performance indices, set goals and develop plans for continuous improvement in quality, cost, employee performance, and maintain a high level of employee safety. Coach, manage, and develop a high performing team. Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Advise and assist the Site Director in general areas of manufacturing. Assist in all internal and external regulatory audits of manufacturing at the site. Participate in new product design and development reviews and design control activities effecting manufacturing. Guide development of processes/procedures related to Capital Equipment Repair and Refurbishment
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
Bachelors Degree (Required) and minimum 10+ years relevant work experience. Knowledge of regulations and standards of medical devices. Manufacturing experience with companies engaged in the manufacture of high quality, FDA regulated products. Proven leadership skills, results oriented, highly collaborative, team player, and self-starter who can operate in a fast-paced environment. Experience in state-of-the-art, multi-step, high volume, process control manufacturing and process development. Experience with
ISO 9001/CE
Mark requirements. Manufacturing management experience in manufacturing planning, documented systems, GMP, and quality. Please note that the salary range listed is our full grade range.
