Overview:
Turbopower is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to assume the role of Machine Shop Supervisor. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, results-driven professional with a proven track record of overseeing daily operations within the Machine Shop Department, including welding, painting, and metalizing. This individual will be responsible for supervising and coordinating workflow, while optimizing manufacturing processes to align with company objectives as well as maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency, in compliance with the rigorous demands of the aerospace industry.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of machinists and technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow. Plan and schedule work assignments as well as provide status updates for the production schedule and ensure all necessary materials are available or procured in a timely manner to facilitate job completion within established deadlines. Establish and oversee quality control processes to ensure all work consistently meets or exceeds industry and company standards and specifications, driving continuous improvement and compliance. Collaborate with the Operations team to enhance workflow efficiency and resolve production challenges. Manage the procurement and inventory of materials, tools, equipment, services, general shop supplies, and other departmental needs. Facilitate employee development by fostering collaboration and supporting individual growth. Assist team members in enhancing their skills through education and training in order to maximize their strengths and address areas for improvement. Perform routine inspections and audits of equipment, promptly reporting any issues identified in order to minimize downtime. Ensure the proper maintenance of essential equipment components, including coolant levels, lubricants, chip clearing systems, machine enhancements, and other general maintenance requirements. Coordinate with Account & Supply Chain Management to ensure prioritization of parts are appropriately identified. Compile and deliver comprehensive reports on production metrics, team performance, and other pertinent data, providing actionable insights to support decision making and continuous improvement Oversee performance management, including conducting performance evaluations, addressing employee concerns, and implementing corrective actions when necessary. Responsible for labor management to include submittal of weekly payroll forms, and approval of time and attendance records.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent (required); associate or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related field (preferred). Minimum 5 years of experience in an automotive or aviation conventional/machine shop environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Must be bilingual
- English/Spanish.
Working knowledge of manual machining, metalizing, painting, welding and other related manufacturing processes as well as machine shop tooling, materials, and cutting techniques. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, AS-9110, or other process improvement methodologies (preferred). Experience with Quantum strongly preferred.

Physical/Working Environment:
The primary work environment is an MRO shop setting.
Basic Schedule:
7:00 am
- 3:30 pm Monday
- Friday, additional time as needed.
