Sabert will not commence an employment-based immigration case to fill this open position The Plant Operations Manager is responsible for overall process of production at the plant. The incumbent manages several supervisors or leads, working under the overall direction of the plant manager. The role’s key challenge is to maintain production within specific guidelines for production efficiency, labor cost, materials usage, waste amounts, quality and safety.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Planning, directing, and coordinating the manufacturing of products in accordance with company goals and objectives. Establishing and controlling conditions of production in order to satisfy customer and quality specifications. Organizing and directing workflow and work processes so as to satisfy production requirements in a cost-efficient manner. Performing analysis of manufacturing materials and determining optimum levels of virgin and regrind resin. People Directing the production supervisors and leads in the execution of the plant’s operating plans. Maintaining employee safety and morale by creating a safe, efficient and positive work environment. Maintaining proper employment levels through selecting, interviewing, and training of personnel. Continuous Improvement Identifying and evaluating ideas to improve the plant’s operations; participating actively in process improvement, cost reduction, and other initiatives to continuously improve the plant’s operations and overall performance. Developing and motivating cost-effective alternatives and improvements to the production process. Maximizing the efficiency of production lines and ensuring the effective utilization of all production staff and related resources.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of plastics and related process equipment in Thermoforming and Extrusion. Understanding and background in manufacturing CPET, PET or PP is a strong plus. High-level leadership and decision-making skills. Ability to motivate, influence, and train people. Ability to interact with all levels of Plant personnel. Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills. Results orientation; high level of personal initiative, energy and ownership for success. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering or a related field. 10+ years of work experience in a manufacturing environment with at least 5+ years of management experience. Experience in managing equipment installations or process improvement projects. Experience with running Thermoforming and Extrusion equipment.
