Job Description
Plant Manage Quesos La Ricura, Ltd. 105 Bi County Boulevard, Farmingdale, NY 11735 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Plant Manager to oversee our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining high-quality standards, and leading a team of skilled professionals. This role requires strong leadership abilities, a keen understanding of manufacturing practices, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Responsibilities Lead all aspects of plant operations: production, maintenance, sanitation, quality control, and logistics. Ensure full compliance with USDA, FDA, OSHA, HACCP, and other relevant food safety and regulatory requirements. Oversee the production of cured meats and charcuterie products (e.g., chorizo, sausages), ensuring product consistency and safety. Implement and lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and cost reduction. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous development. Work cross-functionally with departments such as Supply Chain, R D, and Sales to meet production and business goals. Conduct root cause analysis and resolve operational issues related to equipment, quality, or compliance. Promote and support sustainability initiatives, including waste reduction and energy efficiency.
Industry Experience:
Minimum 1 year of experience in food production management (required). Preferably experienced in meat processing, particularly with cured or value-added meat products in the U.S. market. Familiarity with food-grade equipment, cold chain logistics, and USDA-regulated environments.
Education:
Preferably holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Certifications such as
HACCP, SQF, ISO
22000, or similar are a plus.•
Languages:
Fluency in both English and Spanish is required (spoken and written).
Technical & Operational Skills:
Understanding of modern food production technologies and automated manufacturing systems. Ability to manage cross-functional teams and coordinate across departments. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, regulated production environment.•
Leadership & Communication:
Proven leadership with the ability to motivate, develop, and lead diverse teams. Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making capability. Excellent communication for both internal coordination and external collaboration.
