Job Summary:

We are seekinga detail-oriented and dependable Field Quality Control Technicianto support our paving operations team. This role is responsible forperforming on-site testing and inspection of hot mix asphalt toensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards,and quality expectations. The ideal candidate will have experienceworking in outdoor field environments, an understanding of pavingoperations (or a willingness to learn), and a commitment tomaintaining a safe and productive work environment. This is afield-based position that requires flexibility to work varyingshifts, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and extendedhours, based on project schedules and operational needs.

EssentialFunctions:

1. Safety always wins. Ensure strict adherence tosafety, environmental, and company policies while working on jobsites. 2. Measurement. Perform field sampling and testing of hotmix asphalt in accordance with industry standards (e.g., AASHTO,ASTM, and applicable state DOT specifications). 3. Results matter.

Conduct density testing using a non-nuclear gauge and otherapproved quality control methods. 4. Determined. Monitor materialtemperatures, mix properties, and compaction levels during activepaving operations. 5. Ownership and caring. Accurately document andreport daily test results to internal teams and regulatoryagencies, as required. 6. Communicate findings and concernspromptly with paving crews and project management to supportproactive quality assurance. 7. Dedication. Assist in identifyingand troubleshooting quality concerns in the field, recommendingcorrective actions as needed. 8. Obligated. Maintain testingequipment and supplies in good working condition and ready for use.9. Mastery. Support internal audits and maintain projectdocumentation to meet compliance and quality record requirements.

Requirements, Education and Experience:

1. High school diploma orequivalent required; an associate degree or technical training inconstruction materials, civil engineering, or a related field is aplus. 2. Prior experience in asphalt testing, paving operations, orconstruction materials quality control strongly preferred(on-the-job training available). 3. Familiarity with DOTspecifications and quality standards related to asphalt paving arepreferred. 4. Relevant certifications such as NETTCP, ACI, orequivalent preferred (or willingness to obtain is required). 5.Must have a strong attention to detail and proficiency indocumentation and record-keeping. 6. Ability to work outdoors invarying weather conditions and flexible hours, including earlymornings, nights, and weekends, based on project demands. 7. Validdriver’s license and reliable transportation required. 8.Authorization to work in the U.S.

Travel:

This position requires frequent travel to job sites throughout theregion, with approximately 90% of time spent in the field and 10%in the lab, depending on business needs. Travel may be conductedusing a company vehicle or a personal vehicle; mileagereimbursement will be provided for the use of a personal vehicle.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

This position works outdoors inhot, humid and inclement weather. Heavy work includes movingobjects up to 50 lb. or more. This position works on or near movingmechanical parts and loud equipment. Requires the ability to standfor long periods of time as well as lifting, bending, squatting,walking, reaching, and repetitive motion.
