POSITION OVERVIEW

The Marketing Director serves as part of the company’s leadership team and is involved in the strategy for business growth, with the expectation of making valuable contributions that align the marketing strategy with the business strategy in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial culture. The Marketing Director is responsible for leading the company’s marketing strategies from concept to completion and driving the growth of patient participation in clinical trials. The Marketing Director collaborates closely with the Patient Engagement Teams and other departments and has responsibility for brand management, marketing and advertising, marketing analytics, and return on marketing investments.

RESPONSIBILITIES A.

Leadership 1. Lead the company’s marketing strategy, from concept to completion, with speed and a mindset for quality, growth, and results. 2. Drive the growth of patient participation in clinical trials by producing friendly, welcoming messaging to patients and generating leads that convert to completed screens. 3. Provide daily guidance to team members to work effectively together and achieve results. Oversee, coach, and provide feedback to develop and grow the team into a high-performance team. B. Brand Management 1. Oversee all aspects of brand management and serve as the company’s leader in building and maintaining a strong brand identity and image. 2. Maintain the brand book, lead company training on brand guidelines, and ensure utilization of brand standards across the company. 3. Ensure brand consistency and a unified brand image across all touchpoints, including website, social media, advertising, events, and collateral. 4. Ensure consistent and impactful messaging across all channels. C. Marketing and Advertising 1. Analyze target market information and plan and execute marketing strategies to increase the number of study participants in clinical trials. 2. Collaborate with Patient Engagement teams to ensure success of marketing campaigns and gain insights into modifying current campaigns and developing new initiatives. 3. Establish and lead the company’s marketing strategies for direct-response campaigns that generate new leads and brand-building initiatives that strengthen patient familiarity and trust. 4. Lead the planning and production of all printed and digital advertisements and marketing collateral companywide. This encompasses a wide variety of projects, typically to support the Patient Engagement, Client Services, and Human Resources teams. Examples include brochures and pop-up banners for the Physician Partnerships teams; tents, outdoor signage, postcards, and promotional items for the Events teams; newspaper advertisements to generate leads for the Patient Recruitment teams; patient wayfinding signage for the Clinic teams; hiring ads, company event ads, and promotional items for the Human Resources team; and digital conference announcements and promotional postcards for the Client Services team. 5. Establish strategy and goals for digital marketing – including paid social media, organic social media, email newsletters, and website maintenance and development – and proof final materials prior to pushing live. 6. Review the creation, scheduling, and publishing of content across all social media platforms and email campaigns; ensure all content is on-brand, compliant with applicable regulations, and optimized for maximum reach and engagement. 7. Ensure marketing campaigns and materials are developed in both English and Spanish and support the inclusion of a wide diversity of study participants. 8. Drive continuous process improvement by identifying and capitalizing on opportunities to streamline workflows, increase efficiency, and enhance overall effectiveness. 9. Stay actively involved in the clinical trials landscape, especially with regard to patient recruitment strategies and tactics, identifying trends and growth opportunities. 10. Keep up to date with platform updates and emerging technologies and apply this knowledge to keep strategies innovative and effective. D. Marketing Analytics 1. Monitor, analyze, and report on marketing campaign results and key performance metrics across all marketing channels, and use insights to inform strategy adjustments, optimize campaign performance, and increase patient participation and ROI. 2. Track cost per lead, conversion rate from lead to completed screen, and other key metrics, and advise Site Leaders of changes to drive growth in trial participation. 3. Aid in the development and implementation of automated systems to monitor and report marketing results and key performance metrics. E. Return on Marketing Investments 1. Track the financial results of all marketing investments in detail and utilize insights to inform future marketing initiatives. 2. Develop and manage marketing budgets and forecasts to achieve maximum ROI. 3. For direct response campaigns, ensure cost per lead and conversion rate from lead to completed screen are within company guidelines. 4. For branding initiatives, work creatively to maximize marketing impact while managing within budget.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees to work effectively together as a high-performance team; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; coaching and mentoring employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Marketing Team.

Excellent critical thinking skills, with demonstrated ability to cut through the noise, clearly define the pertinent criteria for success, develop comprehensive solutions, and implement wise marketing campaigns independently. 10. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 11. Excellent communication, presentation, and persuasion skills. 12. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence across teams. 13. Ability to see and plan the big picture, work on granular details, and understand how the details support the big vision.

QUALIFICATIONS 1.

Bachelor’s degree required – preferably in marketing, business, or related field; Master’s degree in marketing, business, or related field preferred. 2. At least seven (7) years of progressive experience in marketing roles with demonstrated success across a broad array of marketing experiences. 3. At least five (5) years’ experience in a management role, with demonstrable results in managing a team and delivering year-over-year quantifiable growth in key marketing metrics. 4. Experience in Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, or other graphic design programs is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 1.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 2. Prolonged periods of walking, standing, speaking, and moving. 3. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
