Monday – Friday (8:30-4:30) with some evenings and weekends required

Cancer Support Community Greater NY & CT is a nonprofit organization with a mission to uplift and strengthen people impacted by cancer by providing support, fostering compassionate communities, and breaking down barriers to care. Everyone impacted by cancer receives the support they want and need throughout their experience. We provide compassionate, free support services, wellness programming, and education to help people navigate the emotional and practical challenges of a cancer diagnosis. With over a $1 million annual operating budget, our work is made possible through the generosity of donors, special events, community partners, and grantors.

Position Summary:

The Development and Marketing Manager plays a key leadership role in sustaining and expanding the organization’s fundraising efforts and increasing visibility throughout the community. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of development and marketing, including individual giving, major gifts, special events, corporate sponsorships, planned giving and assisting with grant writing. The ideal candidate is a mission-driven professional with excellent communication skills, a collaborative spirit, and a strategic mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

Development & Fundraising Develop and execute a comprehensive annual development plan to meet and exceed revenue targets. Cultivate, solicit, and steward individual, corporate, and foundation donors. Lead donor recognition and engagement efforts, ensuring timely acknowledgments and impact reporting. Assist with writing compelling grant proposals and reports; manage grant deadlines and compliance. Plan and manage fundraising events, awareness campaigns, and third-party fundraisers. Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in the CRM/database. Marketing & Communications Lead strategic marketing initiatives to enhance the organization’s brand, visibility, and community presence. Develop and manage digital and print content for newsletters, social media, website, annual impact report and promotional materials. Coordinate public relations and outreach efforts, including media relations and speaking opportunities. Oversee the development of impact stories and testimonials to inspire engagement and support. Analyze and report on marketing performance metrics and make data-informed adjustments. Organizational Collaboration & Administration Partner with the Executive Director and Board on strategic development goals. Support board development and fundraising committee efforts as needed. Track key performance indicators and provide regular development and marketing reports to leadership.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, marketing, communications, or a related field. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising and marketing. Proven success in donor cultivation, grant writing, and event planning. Excellent writing, interpersonal, and project management skills. Familiarity with CRM systems and digital marketing platforms. Strong commitment to the mission of supporting individuals affected by cancer.
