Idaho Power — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for a Contracting Agent to join our Corporate Services & Communication team. It’s an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. While this position is based at Idaho Power’s downtown Boise location, we offer both flexible schedules and the opportunity to work up to 40% remote. What does a Contracting Agent do for us? The Contracting Agent proactively leads stakeholders through the development and execution of contracts for internal customer service and goods needs, typically of moderate risk and complexity. This role leads the competitive bidding process, negotiations, and prepares comprehensive contract documents. The Contracting Agent achieves business unit cost objectives with a focus on delivering the best value to Idaho Power. A COMPETITIVE CANDIDATE WILL HAVE
Knowledge of:
Contracting practices, terms and conditions Developing and writing a statement of work Negotiation techniques and supplier management practices The competitive bidding process ERP and EAM systems Business acumen Skills in: Strong time management, decision making, and analytical skills Effective problem solving, critical thinking, and negotiation Excellent verbal and written communication, presentations High attention to detail and organizational skills Microsoft 365 such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote Ability to: Communicate and interact effectively, verbal and written, with diverse audiences, including technical personnel and business leaders Work collaboratively in a team environment Be results-oriented Self-starter Customer focus Group facilitation Prioritize and efficiently perform multiple tasks, apply time management techniques Easily interact with different personalities including highly technical personnel and business leaders Apply time management techniques and be flexible to changing priorities to ensure proper completion of tasks Gather information, identify linkage and trends, and apply findings to assignments Work in a fast paced, dynamic environment and maintain composure while dealing effectively with a diverse customer base and constructively work under stress and pressure when faced with high workloads and aggressive deadlines May be required to work extended hours in the event of large emergencies, i.e. fires, outages, etc. Embrace change and accept complex challenges with initiative Ask difficult questions and solve difficult problems
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or related field
Experience:
4 or more years of related work experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires working at a desk/computer for extended periods of time. It requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working in close proximity to other people.
