Music Director First Congregational Church of Hatfield U.C.C. Hatfield, MA 01038 Music Director – First Congregational Church of Hatfield, U.C.C. First Congregational Church of Hatfield, MA, is an open and affirming congregation seeking a dedicated and skilled Music Director to lead our music ministry. This part-time position offers a meaningful opportunity to make a lasting impact in a spiritually vibrant and caring congregation.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Music Director with strong piano and organ skills and experience in directing volunteer choirs . The ideal candidate will be a collaborator who enjoys working with volunteers and the church minister to enhance the worship experience through a wide variety of music genres.
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule and lead a weekly choir rehearsal and Sunday service (1 service/week) Select and prepare music in collaboration with the minister for Sunday worship and special services (e.g., Christmas, Easter) Play piano and/or organ for weekly worship and rehearsal Encourage participation and foster a welcoming atmosphere in the choir Assist in scheduling maintenance of musical instruments, including routine check-ins and arranging for tuning/service as needed
Qualifications:
Proficient in piano and organ performance Experience in directing vocal choirs (church or community settings preferred) Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills Flexibility, dependability, and a heart for service in a spiritual environment

Annual Salary:
Commensurate with experience
Vacation:
4 scheduled vacation days (must be arranged in advance)
