This role is essential in providing musical support for weekly worship services, rehearsals, special presentations and events. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in church music, particularly in hymnody and in choral and congregational accompaniment. This position requires creativity, excellent music reading skills, highly skilled choral accompaniment capability and flexibility. Duties Collaborate with vocalists, instrumentalists, and directors to provide musical accompaniment for rehearsals and worship presentations. Play the organ or piano for funerals and weddings as occasionally requested. Be able to play choral parts and/or accompaniment for assigned choirs and ensembles in rehearsals and for presentations. Attend rehearsals regularly to ensure seamless integration of music with presentation elements. Provide musical direction and support for soloists or ensembles as requested. Adapt musical pieces as necessary to fit the needs of the presenter(s). Work with the Minister sd Music to maintain the instruments in good condition and ensure they are properly tuned before performances. Qualifications A high level of proficiency in playing the organ and/or piano is required. Experience in traditional, baptist church music/worship setting. Strong sight-reading skills and the ability to learn new pieces quickly. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and ages. A background in church music, music education or performance is preferred. Flexibility to adapt to varying schedules for rehearsals and performances.
