Professional Dog Groomer Sandy Paws, Inc. 64 Putnam Street, Winthrop, MA 02152 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pet Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a strong commitment to providing exceptional grooming services. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of pets while delivering top-notch grooming services that leave our furry clients looking and feeling their best. We are looking for someone that has at least one year of experience. The grooming portion of our salon is open Monday through Friday 9am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 5pm, but you are not expected to work all 6 days. Duties Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling pets according to breed standards and client preferences. Assess the condition of pets’ coats and skin, identifying any issues that may require veterinary attention. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about grooming options, pet care tips, and any observed health concerns. Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized and in good working order. Handle pets safely and humanely during grooming sessions, utilizing proper animal restraint techniques as needed. Educate pet owners on proper at-home care techniques to maintain their pet’s grooming between visits. Collaborate with team members to ensure a positive experience for both pets and their owners. Skills Proficient in pet grooming techniques for various breeds and sizes of dogs and cats. Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their pets. Knowledge of basic veterinary care principles is a plus, as well as experience in animal restraint methods. Familiarity with equine grooming is an advantage but not required. Experience in kennel management or as a veterinary assistant can enhance your candidacy. Ability to handle dogs safely, demonstrating confidence in dog handling skills.
