The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and experience in handling dogs of various breeds and temperaments. As a Dog Walker/Pet Sitter you will be responsible for ensuring the well-being of our clients’ pets while providing them with exercise, companionship, and care during their walks. You will be responsible for clients home as well. This role requires reliability, strong communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional pet care. Duties Walk dogs in various weather conditions while ensuring their safety and comfort. Maintain control of the dog at all times, using proper handling techniques. Monitor the dog’s behavior and health during walks, reporting any concerns to the owner. Provide fresh water and ensure that dogs are hydrated before and after walks. Clean up after dogs during walks to maintain cleanliness in public spaces. Communicate regularly with pet owners regarding their dog’s behavior and any relevant updates. Assist with additional pet care tasks as needed, such as feeding or administering medication. Requirements Previous experience in dog handling or pet care is preferred; experience with equine or other animal handling is a plus. Strong knowledge of animal behavior and effective animal restraint techniques. Ability to manage multiple dogs at once safely and effectively. Excellent communication skills to interact with both pets and their owners. A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being. Physical ability to walk for extended periods and handle dogs of varying sizes. Certification or experience as a veterinary assistant or in a kennel environment is advantageous but not required. Must be willing to sleep at clients home while they’re on vacation. Light travel required given location. Must have valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
