About the Role
A leading investment firm is seeking a highly motivated Portfolio Coverage Associate to join their dynamic team. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with portfolio companies and senior stakeholders, providing strategic insights and supporting value creation initiatives across a diverse portfolio. The role offers exposure to both investment and operational aspects of asset management.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Coverage & Analysis
Build and maintain detailed financial models for portfolio companies.
Analyze and synthesize financial and operational data quarterly, highlighting key issues and value-creation opportunities.
Conduct sector-specific and company-specific research, informed by conversations with management and industry experts.
Maintain regular communication with portfolio companies to support business updates and quarterly reporting.
Track and review key financing events, including primary/secondary transactions and M&A activity.
Forecast liquidity events and model projected returns.
Support investor relations efforts, including materials for annual and quarterly LP meetings and ad hoc updates.
Portfolio Company Support / Value Creation
Collaborate with portfolio company executives on strategic initiatives such as:
Budgeting and forecasting
Strategic planning
M&A and IPO/exit strategy
Facilitate strategic introductions leveraging internal and external networks.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier institution.
Minimum 2 years of experience in buyside asset management or sell-side investment research.
Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
Self-starter with a team-oriented mindset and high attention to detail.
Experience in TMT and/or consumer sectors is a plus, but not required.
