Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Business Development Director oversees the strategic direction and daily operations of the sales and marketing teams, with a focus on driving revenue growth for Coastal Logistics Group’s port-centric third-party logistics (3PL) services. This position is responsible for developing and executing integrated sales and supporting marketing initiatives that align with organizational goals. The role requires a strong understanding of the transportation, warehousing, and supply chain sectors, as well as demonstrated experience managing cross-functional teams. The Business Development Director is expected to foster a collaborative environment, emphasizing client engagement, data-informed decision making, and effective brand positioning to support long-term business development.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly performance reports with actionable insights and strategic recommendations for leadership. Represent CLG at trade shows, customer meetings, and industry events to promote business development. Utilize Microsoft CRM Dynamics & Microsoft NAV for forecasting, reporting, and account tracking. Full responsibility and management of the Sales funnel and Sales Pipeline Monitor and analyze industry trends, market conditions, and competitive positioning—particularly in port-centric 3PL markets. Ensure consistent brand messaging across all customer touchpoints and marketing channels. Work closely with the Marketing Team Support marketing campaigns across digital and traditional platforms to drive lead generation, branding, and client retention. Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth implementation and onboarding of new business. Provide exceptional customer service and account management throughout the sales process. Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service terms with clients in alignment with company policies. Present and demonstrate transportation, warehousing, and logistics solutions to prospective customers. Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients to support long-term partnerships. Identify and prospect potential clients in the transportation, logistics, and supply chain industries. Develop and execute integrated sales and marketing strategies aligned with organizational goals. Lead, mentor, and manage the sales and marketing teams to exceed the targeted revenue and profit budgeted goals
Qualifications & Experience:
5-7 years of leadership experience in business development and marketing within the 3PL, logistics, or transportation industry Demonstrated experience leading sales and marketing teams in a B2B environment Strong working knowledge of HubSpot, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft CRM Dynamics Proven ability to build customer relationships, close deals, and lead marketing campaigns Exceptional communication, negotiation, and strategic planning skills Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
Port-centric logistics experience and familiarity with warehousing, drayage, and transloading Experience with marketing content development, lead funnel optimization, and branding in logistics Established client network in the Savannah or Southeast logistics market
