OverviewMastercard is looking for a talented Director, Specialist Sales tojoin our team. The position will be responsible for establishingnew and growing existing Mastercard Open Banking commercialpartnerships with a focus on US Market Development. This includesPlatforms, Acquirers, Processors, strategic merchants, and emergingverticals. You will work with some of the largest and mostinnovative financial services and technology companies in thecountry who are actively embracing the digitization of financialdata to empower consumers and small businesses. Your primaryobjective will be to cultivate strong relationships with ourpartners to accelerate profitable revenue growth. To achieve thisobjective, you will work closely with our internal Mastercardcustomer account management and Services teams to architect,price/negotiate/contract, build-out and implement innovativefinancial services offerings across a variety of Open Banking usecases. A key success driver will be leveraging deep clientrelationships and capabilities across the overall Mastercardbusiness (i.e., integrating Open Banking services into the broaderaccount plans that address our clients’ most pressing strategies).Role
- Build strong internal relationships and communicationchannels within the Open Banking team and the broader Mastercardorganization to ensure a collaborative, unified and responsiveinterface to partner relationships
- Analyze client needs, conductresearch, develop thoughtful solutions and devise tactical plans topursue business opportunities
- Manage the entire sales cycle fromopportunity identification, thru pursuit and proposal developmentto negotiation and contract execution.
- Integrate Open Bankingpriorities and opportunities within the broader Mastercardstrategic account planning framework
- Build and manage a robustpipeline by identifying and selling prospects
- Successfully closenew business through consultative and relationship-based selling
- Achieve and exceed assigned quotas
- Capture and share clientfeedback with Open Banking stakeholders to enhance the Open BankingProduct and Technology management process
- Proactively keep up todate of industry and technology landscape to ensure you are atrusted advisor and resource to prospects, customers and internalMastercard stakeholders All About You
- Agility and desire todemonstrate depth and breadth on any given day – e.g. articulatingindustry trends, framing/negotiating commercial models,innovating/white boarding with a partner, harnessing resources toresolve an issue, consolidating/synthesizing a revenue forecast
- Strong organizational and personal skills to successfullycommunicate and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent presentation skills and ability to communicateeffectively with C-level business executives
- Partner-driven witha desire and proven track-record to achieve success through complexrelationships and multi-tier distribution channels.
- Solidunderstanding of our clients’ top Open Banking use cases spanningpayments and lending
- Good working knowledge of technology tounderstand partner implementation approaches and position OpenBanking services (e.g., APIs, cloud-based infrastructure,microservices, technical SLAs)
- Strategic mindset with ability tounderstand partner and industry objectives
- Excellent relationshipdevelopment, problem solving and issue management skills
- Self-driven, proactive, motivated and results oriented
- High levelof partner/client management experience including in asales/business development role
