The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional service to our patients and customers while ensuring accurate transactions. This position requires a strong understanding of pharmacy operations, patient care, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Duties Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently at the register. Assist customers with inquiries regarding medications and pharmacy services. Maintain knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacy products to provide informed assistance. Ensure compliance with aseptic techniques when handling medications. Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and healthcare professionals to support patient care initiatives. Handle cash, insurance, credit, and debit transactions while maintaining accurate records. Processing refunds. Provide excellent patient service by addressing concerns and resolving issues promptly. Uphold cleanliness and organization within the cashier area to promote a safe environment. File and organize prescriptions for easy retrieval. May assist with prescription intake by gathering basic customer information. Monitor product expiration dates and remove expired items. Assist with inventory counts and restocking behind the counter. Answer phone calls and route them to the appropriate staff. Discretion when handling sensitive health information. Skills Strong understanding of pharmacy operations and medication administration. Familiarity with medical terminology related to patient care and critical care settings. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and team members. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred but not required. Patience and empathy when assisting customers. Ability to handle complaints or issues calmly. Accurate cash register operation. Multitasking in a fast-paced environment. Time management and punctuality. Familiarity with pharmacy point-of-sale systems is preffered but not required.
