In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for guests at the register, responsible for selling admission passports, food bags, and promotional bundles. Your ability to effectively upsell and provide exceptional customer service will directly contribute to enhancing the guest experience and driving revenue for the aquarium. Key Responsibilities Guest Engagement & Building Rapport Warmly greet every guest with enthusiasm and genuine friendliness. Engage in personalized conversation to understand their visit purpose and preferences, creating a memorable experience that opens opportunities for upselling Product/Service Presentation & Tailored Recommendations Demonstrate deep knowledge of passports, food bags, and bundle offerings. Explain clearly features and benefits, positioning premium options to match guest needs—e.g., “This bundle gives extra food items for a more enjoyable experience.” Upselling & Cross‑Selling Strategy Proactively identify upsell chances: suggest upgrades (like larger food bags, and premiums), add-on merchandise, or bundled deals when appropriate Employ strategic timing—such as after a passport or bundle purchase—to introduce complementary items that enhance the guest’s visit . Needs-Based Consultation & Active Listening Use active listening to detect hints of higher engagement (e.g., interest in specialty food items or extras) Offer personalized upsells like extended food packages or souvenir add-ons that align with their questions or interests. Product Demonstrations & Storytelling Use visual, tactile storytelling to demonstrate bundle value—show food contents or passports’ perks (e.g., free re-entry, exhibits access). Create emotional resonance by illustrating how the bundle enhances a family’s aquarium experience Objection Handling & Professional Closing Respect budget sensitivity: gracefully offer options without being pushy Handle objections confidently—e.g., “I understand—if you’d like, I can show why this bundle gives extra value—and there’s a bi‑weekly bonus if you upgrade today!” . Accurate Transaction Management Process all sales—passport entry, food bag, and bundle purchases—with speed and precision on the POS. Ensure transactions are recorded correctly and guests receive clear explanations of their purchase and incentives (e.g., upcoming bonus statements). Merchandise Presentation & Inventory Awareness Keep register area neat, stocked, and visually appealing, using suggestive displays to prompt impulse purchases (e.g., near checkout). Monitor inventory levels of passports, food bags, and bundles; elevate stock shortages or high-performing items to management. Performance Tracking & Continuous Improvement Track individual metrics like upsell ratio, average transaction value, and bonus thresholds. Participate in regular training and role-playing to develop upselling skills and share successful techniques with peers Team Collaboration & Guest Satisfaction Collaborate with fellow associates and management to hit collective sales goals. Provide feedback on what bundles or upsells resonate best with guests, helping shape future promotions.

Bonuses & Incentives:

Eligible for bi-weekly bonus pay based on individual sales performance. Opportunity to earn extra commission on upsells and promotional package sales.

Qualifications:

Previous retail or customer‑service experience preferred. Exceptional people‑person skills—outgoing, engaging, and persuasive. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. Comfortable in a fast‑paced environment and can multitask. Proficient with POS systems and basic computer use. Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, and peak season shifts. Positive, sales‑oriented, and service‑driven attitude.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods. Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs as needed.
