Retail Sales Associate Habitat for Humanity of Long Island Inc. 2111 Lakeland Avenue, Ronkonkoma, NY 11779 Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Retail Sales Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be the face of our store, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience for all customers. You will assist in various tasks including sales, stocking, and maintaining the overall appearance of the store. We have full time, part time and seasonal positions. All positions must be available to work weekends. Must apply in person – applications will be at the register •Habitat for Humanity ReStore located at 2111 Lakeland Ave Ronkonkoma, NY 11779 Duties Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products that meet their needs. Engage in upselling techniques to enhance customer purchases and increase store sales. • Maintain organized and well-stocked shelves, ensuring that products are displayed attractively. Answer customer inquiries regarding products, promotions, and store policies with professionalism. Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets and maintain a positive work environment. Monitor inventory levels and assist in restocking items as necessary to ensure product availability. Uphold cleanliness and organization throughout the store to create an inviting atmosphere for customers. Operate the cash register efficiently, handling transactions accurately and providing change as needed. Additional tasks as needed Skills Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse staff, volunteers and clientele. Proficient in sales techniques, including upselling strategies to maximize revenue. Experience with cash register operations and handling transactions accurately. Ability to stock shelves efficiently while maintaining product organization. Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to better serve our diverse customer base. Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs, and heavier items with assistance Standing and bending for long periods of time. Benefits will vary depending on full time, part time or seasonal positions.
