We are seeking an energetic and customer-focused Store Associate to join our team at Batteries Plus. As a Store Associate, you will provide exceptional customer service while helping customers find comprehensive power solutions, from batteries and bulbs to device repairs, key services, and accessories. This multifaceted role includes hands-on technical services and local delivery responsibilities to ensure customers receive complete solutions conveniently.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service & Sales Greet customers warmly and assess their battery, lighting, power solution, and service needs Provide product recommendations and technical guidance on batteries, bulbs, chargers, and accessories Process sales transactions accurately using POS system Handle customer inquiries, returns, and exchanges professionally Build customer relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals Schedule and coordinate repair services and key cutting appointments Product Knowledge & Technical Support Maintain comprehensive knowledge of battery types, specifications, and applications Assist customers with battery testing and installation guidance Perform basic device diagnostics for repair services Stay current on new products, technologies, and industry trends Educate customers on proper battery care and disposal Provide technical support for various electronic devices and power solutions Device Repair Services Perform smartphone, tablet, and small electronic device repairs including screen replacements, battery installations, and charging port repairs Diagnose device issues and provide repair estimates to customers Maintain repair workstation organization and follow safety protocols Complete repair documentation and quality control checks Communicate repair status updates to customers throughout the process Handle warranty claims and follow-up services for completed repairs Key Cutting & Programming Services Cut and duplicate standard house keys, car keys, and specialty keys using precision key cutting equipment Program automotive key fobs, transponder keys, and remote controls for various vehicle makes and models Assist customers with key replacement solutions and security upgrades Maintain key cutting machinery and ensure proper calibration Keep current inventory of key blanks and programming equipment Provide guidance on key and security product options Delivery Services Make local deliveries of products, completed repairs, and programmed keys to customers Ensure accurate order fulfillment and proper handling of merchandise and completed services during transport Collect payments and signatures for delivered items and services Maintain delivery vehicle cleanliness and perform basic safety checks Plan efficient delivery routes and maintain accurate delivery records Provide on-site customer service and basic technical support during deliveries Coordinate delivery schedules with repair completion and key programming timelines Store Operations Maintain organized and well-stocked sales floor, repair area, and inventory spaces Receive, process, and merchandise incoming shipments Conduct regular inventory counts and stock rotation for products and service supplies Ensure store cleanliness and visual merchandising standards Support promotional displays and seasonal campaigns Maintain repair equipment and key cutting machinery in proper working condition

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver’s license with clean driving record Strong customer service and communication skills Basic math skills and comfort with technology/POS systems Manual dexterity and attention to detail for precision repair and key cutting work Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and stand for extended periods Flexible schedule availability including weekends and holidays Reliable transportation and punctual attendance Comfortable driving company vehicle for local deliveries Ability to learn technical procedures and follow detailed repair protocols

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous retail, customer service, or technical repair experience Delivery or route experience Interest in electronics, automotive, or technical products Experience with small electronics repair or key cutting services Bilingual capabilities Basic knowledge of batteries, electrical components, or locksmith services Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
