This position will lead a team of machinists and fabricators, ensuring the efficient and safe production of high-quality components for our custom conveyor systems. Duties Supervise and Lead Team:
Manage and lead a team of machinists and operators, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure optimal performance.
Machining Operations:
Oversee and participate in the setup, operation, and maintenance of various machining equipment, including CNC machines, lathes, mills, and grinders.
Quality Documentation:
Develop, implement, and maintain quality documentation and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
Production Scheduling:
Coordinate and schedule production activities to meet deadlines and optimize workflow.
Troubleshooting:
Identify and resolve machining and production issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
Safety Compliance:
Ensure all team members adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
Continuous Improvement:
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall shop performance.
Inventory Management:
Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials, tools, and supplies to ensure availability for production needs.
Reporting:
Prepare and present regular reports on production metrics, quality control, and team performance to management.
Qualifications Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a machine shop environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in machining techniques, including CNC programming, setup, and operation. Strong understanding of machining processes and equipment.
Quality Control:
Experience with quality documentation, inspection procedures, and compliance with industry standards.
Leadership:
