Role:

We’re seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Retail & Merchandising Manager to lead the front-of-house retail experience at Winner Butcher. This person will be responsible for curating and maintaining our retail product offerings, optimizing the customer experience, and ensuring our space looks beautiful, functions smoothly, and reflects our values. The ideal candidate has a background in specialty food retail or merchandising and a passion for local food and hospitality.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee retail operations and the customer experience in the butcher shop, ensuring the space is welcoming, organized, and well-stocked
Manage inventory of non-meat retail products, including pantry items, wine, cheese, dry goods, and provisions
Curate and source new products aligned with our values and brand identity
Provide excellent customer service, answering questions and making recommendations
Maintain merchandising standards and seasonal displays across the shop
Train and lead front-of-house staff on product knowledge and customer service
Collaborate with the culinary and butcher teams on seasonal offerings, gift boxes, and holiday promotions
Monitor sales data to inform purchasing and merchandising decisions
Plan and execute occasional in-store events and tastings

Qualifications:

3+ years experience in food retail, grocery, or specialty merchandising
Strong eye for visual merchandising and a talent for storytelling through product
Exceptional customer service skills and team leadership experience
Experience with POS systems, inventory management, and vendor relations
Organized, resourceful, and able to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment
Enthusiasm for food systems, local producers, and community engagement
