Our Westchester location in Scarsdale offers a specialized preschool program designed to help young learners grow, learn, and thrive. Classrooms follow 8:1:2 and 12:1:2 staffing ratios, serving children with a range of developmental needs including cognitive and speech/language delays. What You’ll Do As a Special Education Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day success of our 4410 preschool program. You’ll work closely with the Principal and Assistant Principal—and as part of a team of Education Supervisors—to ensure that classrooms run smoothly, instruction stays strong, and staff feel supported. While experience in behavior management is a plus, this position focuses on classroom oversight, staff mentorship, and ensuring consistent quality across the school day.

Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting classroom flow, transitions, and school routines Stepping into classrooms to assist with instruction and coverage as needed Mentoring and coaching teaching staff in classroom management best practices Coordinating staff coverage, schedules, and schoolwide operations Collaborating with clinical staff and related service providers Helping to ensure compliance with DOE, DOH, OCFS, and ACDS policies Supporting data-driven instruction and continuous improvement What We’re Looking For If you’re a thoughtful leader with a strong foundation in special education and a love of teamwork, we want to hear from you!

The ideal candidate will have:

A Master’s Degree in Special Education (required) NYS Certification in Special Education and General Education (Birth-Grade 2 or All Grades) 5+ years of experience teaching in a self-contained special education classroom Previous experience in a supervisory, coaching, or leadership capacity Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills Working knowledge of Positive Behavior Supports (a plus) Why Work at ACDS Westchester?
