Role:
The Business Development Representative (BDR) plays a key role in expanding Hercules Sealing Products’ customer base by identifying, engaging, and converting new sales opportunities. The BDR is responsible for initiating outbound contact with potential clients, nurturing leads from various channels, maintaining CRM accuracy, and supporting the company’s strategic sales goals. This role is essential for driving new business growth and contributing to long-term customer relationships in the aftermarket hydraulic seals industry. There are two shifts available for this position: 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. EST 10:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
EST What You’ll Do:
Conduct cold calls and outbound outreach to potential new business leads to generate interest and convert to active accounts. Follow up on social media inquiries, web orders (guest and registered), and convert them into established Hercules customer accounts. Develop and maintain a personal book of business within a defined territory, ensuring ongoing customer satisfaction and retention. Achieve and maintain performance goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to outbound activity, conversion rates, and sales growth. Accurately enter and manage all customer interactions, notes, quotes, and order details within the company’s CRM system. Prepare and submit quotes and sales orders with a high degree of accuracy, ensuring follow-up and customer communication is timely and clear. Re-engage and attempt to reactivate dormant (“dead”) accounts through structured outreach and promotional efforts. Collaborate with Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) to develop strategic approaches for targeted accounts and high-value prospects. Stay informed on product knowledge, market trends, and competitive landscape to effectively address customer needs and objections. Provide feedback from prospects and market interactions to the sales leadership team to help refine messaging and strategy.
Entry Level Requirements:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Goal-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to work independently. Experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Zoho, Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with outbound sales techniques and customer acquisition strategies. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in order and quote management. Ability to build rapport quickly and maintain long-term relationships with customers. Experience or understanding of the hydraulic seals or industrial distribution market is a plus.
