Healthcare Business Development Associate Job Type:
Independent Contractor (Hourly, with potential to grow into a part-time or expanded role)
Location:
Hybrid – Douglasville, Georgia (must be local)
Compensation:
Hourly (based on experience)
Hours:
Flexible; up to 15 hours/week based on workload
Travel Requirement:
Less than 5% (limited to quarterly in-person meetings in Hampton, VA)
Overview:
Mindful Communication Group, a growing multidisciplinary therapy practice, is seeking a highly motivated and organized Healthcare Business Development Associate to support the internal growth and expansion of our company through the development and coordination of government, education, and healthcare contracts. This position is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in healthcare systems or therapy services who understands how to navigate contracting, proposal submissions, and business development workflows in a healthcare setting. This is an hourly independent contractor role with the potential to evolve into a part-time or manager-level position. The ideal candidate has a passion for strategic growth, understands healthcare and educational service delivery models, and thrives in a collaborative but self-driven role.
Key Responsibilities:
Contracting & Growth Coordination Research and identify new business opportunities through school districts, government agencies, and healthcare partners Assist in preparing and submitting contracts, applications, and supporting documentation Maintain and update calendars of due dates, renewal cycles, and submission timelines Register and manage company profiles on contracting and procurement platforms (e.g. VendorLink) Track metrics related to submissions, leads, awards, and follow-up tasks Internal Business Development Contribute to the development of growth strategies with the Directors Organize and maintain business development files, credentialing documents, and contracting records Support the creation of business capability statements, service overviews, and outreach language Monitor industry trends and local/statewide opportunities related to healthcare and educational therapy services Follow up with potential business leads to support contract acquisition and expansion
Location & Schedule:
Hybrid role based in Douglasville, Georgia Must be able to attend quarterly in-person meetings in Douglasville Virtual team meetings are required twice per week Flexible schedule outside of required meeting times
Qualifications:
Education & Background Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or Healthcare Management (required) Master’s degree or specialized training in contracting, procurement, or healthcare systems (preferred) Skills & Experience Strong understanding of healthcare, therapy services, and educational systems (required) Experience working with government, education, and healthcare contracts Familiarity with procurement platforms such as VendorLink, or similar systems Ability to track data, deadlines, and metrics with accuracy Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and document organization Excellent written communication and attention to detail Ability to work independently and collaboratively with Directors to meet company goals
Preferred Skills:
Experience drafting or coordinating business proposals Knowledge of early intervention, special education, Medicaid, or community-based therapy services Strong organizational systems for maintaining business documents and timelines
