Job Description
Overview Kimley-Horn is looking for a Geologist with 2+ years of experience to join our Harrisburg, PA office! This is not a remote position. Responsibilities The main goal of this position is to assist clients with complex environmental issues, including contamination assessments and remedial planning. Specific job activities include, but are not limited to: Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, contamination assessments, remedial planning, compliance assistance and permitting. Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients’ visions for the future built environment. Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and our client’s practices, procedures, and standards. Travel required (approximately 50%). Qualifications 2+ years relevant experience, including Phase I/II site assessments and site characterization Bachelors or Masters Degree in relevant majors including Biology, Environmental Science, or related majors 40-Hour
OSHA HAZWOPER
Training (or ability to obtain within 6 months) Field work experience, including soil and groundwater sampling, aquifer test performance and analysis Experience using Surfer, LogPlot, RockWorks, AquiferWin32 and Groundwater Vistas is a plus Experience with Pennsylvania Act 2 Program is a plus Phase I/II environmental site assessments Possess strong technical writing skills and have knowledge writing detailed technical reports Working knowledge and strong interest in ArcGIS Pro Desire to work in both an office environment and in the field Willingness and flexibility to travel for projects as needed Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines Detail-oriented team player with the ability to contribute to a positive work environment Strong technical writing and organizational skills The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced work environment as well as the ability to manage and prioritize several assignments concurrently and meet deadlines Why Kimley-Horn?
