Job Description AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Technician to join our New York and New Jersey Remediation team. You will work on a diverse range of projects delivering remediation system solutions to our key clients. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients, site personnel and office management, and work both independently and as part of a project team. In addition, the successful candidate will be committed to the team’s success and growth; will rigorously apply safety policies and procedures; and will effectively manage the quality of field efforts within the bounds of the AECOM Quality Management System. The role requires a strong mechanical and safety aptitude, and the candidate must have experience working with plumbing, electrical, and general construction related trades. Duties include (but will not be limited to) in-house equipment maintenance coordination and in-house remediation system maintenance. Although this is a field position that involves significant equipment maintenance and construction related activities, there will be direct interaction with clients and the candidate must have experience communicating with clients on a professional level. This position will involve travel throughout New York and New Jersey on a regular basis and periodically across North America. Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
HS + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education Experience operating and maintaining soil and groundwater remediation equipment Valid US Driver’s License and as a condition of employment must pass the AECOM Motor Vehicle screening
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
BS in Geology, Environmental Science, or other related sciences Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with soil and groundwater remediation technologies, design, implementation, and operation/maintenance activities Current 40-hr HazWOPER Certification and associated refresher Current First Aid, CPR and AED certification Strong understanding of project documentation requirements including taking organized and detailed field notes, recording observations Additional Information Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position. Relocation is not available for this position. Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $32.00/hour
