About the Job The Senior Microbiologist will perform microbiological testing to support manufacturing activities in compliance with established specifications and FDA cGMPs. Evaluate test data and utilize professional judgment to decide on appropriate responses.

Main Responsibilities:

All duties delineated below as directed by or under the purview of the Manager, Microbiological Services and in conformance to cGMP’s or laboratory SOP’s as appropriate. • Microbial Content Testing of raw materials, in-process, finished product, stability, and process water samples. Antimicrobial Effectiveness Testing of research, stability, and finished product samples. Environmental monitoring of process areas, manufacturing areas, and weigh rooms. Perform identification of microbial isolates. Evaluate test results against specifications and determine accept/reject status. Accurately prepare and maintain records, documents and reports in accordance with Good Documentation Practices. Maintain and update microbiological procedures and methods in accordance with USP and FDA regulatory compliance. Conduct investigations related to microbiological issues and develop corrective/preventative actions as necessary. Design and perform validation studies (i.e., cleaning validations, method validations, etc.). Maintain laboratory supply inventories and ensure laboratory equipment is maintained and calibrated. Maintain a safe, clean work environment and adhere to all policies and procedures. Observe and comply with cGMP/cGLP requirements Maintain microbial cultures. Manage laboratory operations in the absence of the Manager, Microbiological Services. Other duties as assigned by the Manager, Microbiological Services.

About You:
Education:

Bachelor of Science in Microbiology or related science or advanced degree in biological science.

Experience:

3 year’s experience in an OTC, cGMP microbiology laboratory environment Why us?
