Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit The Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research seeks to improve the health of individuals, families, and populations by understanding the problems, issues, and alternatives in the design and delivery of health care services. This is accomplished through an interdisciplinary program of research, consultation, technical assistance, and training that focuses on timely and policy-relevant questions concerning the accessibility, adequacy, organization, cost, and effectiveness of health care services, and the dissemination of this information to policymakers and the general public. Position Summary The Summer Research Associate will assist in creation and implementation of qualitative research assessing beneficiary experience with the NC Medicaid Waiver. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Desire to study Health Policy
Experience developing and managing qualitative research on Medicaid beneficiaries
Experience conducting qualitative research interviews of vulnerable populations, specifically Medicaid beneficiaries Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
