Exempt Position Description:
As an Entry-Level/Junior Data Scientist, you will Leverage the very latest machine learning and AI technologies to analyze large, complex data sets, produce predictive models based on historical data and analysis, and develop effective visualizations to highlight key data findings and patterns. Assist in collecting, processing, and analyzing data from various sources. Design and conduct experiments to test hypotheses and validate models. Collaborate with team members and cross-functional teams to identify data-driven solutions for business problems. Develop and maintain data engineering solutions and visualizations, including dashboards. Support senior data scientists in developing predictive models and algorithms. Create and maintain data documentation and reports.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a STEM or STEM-related field. Minimum of 0-5 years of experience with the design, development, and testing of software tools. Strong familiarity with at least one programming language. Ability to understand data collection, data analysis, and data visualization techniques. Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication abilities. Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the North Alabama area.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong programming and software development experience. Experience applying AI/ML technologies. Experience with Generative AI (e.g., Large Language Models (LLMs)). Experience with statistics and applied machine learning (regression analysis, time series, probabilistic models). Experience developing and maintaining data pipelines Experience developing dashboards Experience with Agile software development methodology. Experience with Missile Defense Agency or other DoD organizations. Experience working with cloud services, such as Microsoft Azure. Strong familiarity with Python.
