SEFFNER, FL
Position Summary:
This role is designed for an Entry Level AI/ML Engineer to begin and develop a career in Artificial Intellgence and Machine learning, with a specific focus on leveraging the Databricks platform within the Azure ecosystem. The Entry Level AI/ML Engineer will work under the guidance of senior engineers, learning foundational AI/ML concepts, tools, and processes. This individual will assist in the development, maintenance, and optimization of classical machine learning, generative AI, and agentic solutions. This position suits individuals passionate about AI who are eager to build practical skills in a real-world setting and establish a strong foundation for a successful career in AI/ML engineering.
Responsibilities:
Assist in exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and data preprocessing tasks using Python and SQL in Databricks Notebooks
Assist senior engineers in building and maintaining scalable AI/ML solutions using Databricks
Develop, train and evaluate classical machine learning models under supervision
Learn to utilize MLflow for experiment tracking, model versioning, registration and deployment
Contribute to the creation and maintenance of documentation for code, experiments, workflows, and solutions
Collaborate cross-functionally with data engineers to ensure the availability and validity of data required to support prioritized AI/ML initiatives
Collaborate cross-functionally with BI developers to incorporate predictive and prescriptive analytics solutions into Power BI reports and dashboards as needed
Stay updated on new features and best practices for AI/ML solution development in Databricks
Learn and apply version control best practices (e.g., Git) for code management
Participate in team meetings, report progress on assigned tasks, and actively seek feedback for learning and improvement
Develop an understanding of fundamental MLOps principles and how they apply to the ML lifecycle
Learn and apply basic prompt engineering techniques (zero-shot, few-shot) to optimize outputs for specific, well-defined analytical or generative tasks
Assist in the testing and validation of AI/ML model components
Assist in requirements gathering and solution design meetings with business stakeholders
Performs other duties as required
Qualifications:
0-2 years of relevant experience. (This may include internships, co-op programs, significant academic projects, relevant bootcamps, or contributions to open-source projects related to AI/ML or data science)
Experience with python programming and basic data analysis tools
Exposure to cloud platforms (ideally Azure) and data platforms (ideally Databricks) through coursework or projects is a plus
Foundational understanding of core machine learning concepts (e.g. supervised vs. unsupervised learning, common algorithms, model training, evaluation)
Ability to follow established MLOps procedures and use version control (e.g., Git)
Basic proficiency in Python for data manipulation, visualization, and scripting
Fundamental SQL skills for data querying and basic manipulation
Exposure to Databricks as well as cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP
Awareness of data structures and algorithms
An aptitude for learning about generative AI, LLMs, and agentic AI concepts
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, statistics, engineering, math (or a related quantitative field) is preferred. (Relevant coursework or academic projects in machine learning, data analysis, or software development is highly desirable)
Industry certifications such as Databricks Lakehouse Fundamentals or Azure AI Fundamentals are beneficial
