Help shape the future of national security computing as a SeniorCloud Engineer at AWS. The AWS Cross Domain Operations team isseeking a cleared Senior Cloud Engineer to support essential crossdomain services for U.S. Intelligence and Defense customers. Ourteam maintains and operates the critical AWS infrastructure thatenables secure cloud capabilities across classified environments.

Your expertise will directly impact national security by ensuringthe reliable operation of systems that government agencies dependon every day. As a Senior Cloud Engineer on our team, you’ll beinstrumental in managing operational excellence for our always-oncross domain systems. You’ll implement and maintain robustprocesses that drive our availability metrics up and our latencymetrics down. We need your operational expertise to ensure ourinfrastructure is ready to scale for future demands, and yourproblem-solving skills to streamline processes and improve ourresponse times. • Lead operationalexcellence initiatives for mission-critical systems, focusing onavailability, resiliency, and security
• Diagnose and resolvecomplex system issues across the full technology stack inhigh-pressure situations
• Drive continuous improvement ofoperational processes, including automation of manual tasks andimplementation of scaling solutions
• Conduct thoroughpost-incident analysis and implement preventive measures to avoidissue recurrence
• Partner with development teams to influencesystem design and architecture decisions that impact operationalstability
• Perform technical deep-dives into service design,operating systems, networking, storage, monitoring, and capacityplanning
• Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve systemreliability and operational efficiency
• Mentor team members onoperational best practices and resilience engineering principlesYou will operate with significant autonomy, making criticaldecisions that affect system reliability and performance.

A day in the life Your typical day begins with yourteam’s daily stand-up, where you and your colleagues reviewoperational priorities and ensure critical tasks are on track tomeet SLAs. As a senior member of the team, you’ll often providetechnical guidance to help unblock issues or suggest more efficientapproaches to problems. BASICQUALIFICATIONS

• Associate’s degree or above, or Cloud or GICSP(Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional) or GSEC (GIACSecurity Essentials) or SSCP (Systems Security CertifiedPractitioner)
• 5 years of Linux systems administration experience
• 5 years of experience working with scripting language
• Experience as a technical lead for a team of engineers
• Current,active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 10 years of Linux systems administrationexperience with experience automating routine and complex tasks
• 5years experience with cloud computing technologies preferably withcross domain solutions
• 5 years of experience with supportprocedures and methodologies for production computing environments
• Understanding of design for scalability, performance, andreliability
