Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Scientist familiar with Revenue Growth Management (RGM) to join our team at Bloomin’ Brands. This role is pivotal in supporting data-driven solutions across various departments, with a primary focus on optimizing pricing strategies, customer segmentation, and volume response estimation.
As key support to the Marketing and Finance teams, the ideal candidate will utilize analytical processes to better understand and segment customers. By leveraging insights, they will support revenue growth and profitability through tailored offers for specific customer segments and dayparts.
The candidate will also assist with segmented menu items and targeted promotions for distinct customer groups and time periods, utilizing techniques such as elasticity modeling, clustering analysis, and data-driven strategies to achieve measurable business outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Elasticity and Cross-Elasticity Analysis
Calculate and update price elasticities and cross-elasticities for products, categories, and markets.
Interpret elasticity insights to inform pricing strategies, promotions, and product assortment decisions.
Leverage existing tools and models to monitor elasticity changes over time.
2) Consumer Segmentation and Clustering
Observe distinct consumer groups based on purchasing behavior, preferences, and demographics.
Update segmentation models using clustering analysis and other statistical techniques.
Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to tailor strategies for each segment.
3) Data Modeling and Advanced Analytics
Maintain predictive models to support revenue growth initiatives.
Use machine learning techniques to enhance volume estimation accuracy and optimize pricing strategies.
Use an array of analytic methods including linear and non-linear models to drive business insights and support data-driven decision making; train and validate ML models
Leverage large datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities for growth.
4) Revenue Growth Strategy Support
Provide support to cross-functional teams, including marketing, and finance, to find untapped opportunities and to solve business issues.
Contribute to the development of pricing strategies, promotional plans, and market expansion initiatives.
Analyze the impact of RGM initiatives and recommend adjustments based on data-driven insights.
5) Data Management and Visualization
Ensure the integrity and accuracy of data used in models and analyses.
Become versed in key internal and external data sources. Support new data sources/features to improve existing machine learning solutions
Collaborate with Digital IT to plan and construct the architecture surrounding model deployment
Continuously improve data collection, storage, and reporting processes.
Draft dashboards and visualizations to communicate insights effectively.
6) Continuous Learning and Innovation
Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in data science, machine learning, and RGM. Experiment with new methodologies and tools to improve analytical capabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
1) Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
2) Experience
3+ years of hands-on experience in data science, with a focus on Revenue Growth Management or a related field, doing quantitative analysis at a consulting firm, analytic supplier or consumer focused business

Technical Skills:
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R.
Familiarity with writing queries and working with databases, with strong skills in SQL
Knowledge of clustering techniques (e.g., k-means, hierarchical clustering) and elasticity modeling.
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Knowledge of machine learning concepts: feature selection, regression/classification, segmentation, cross-validation, sampling, and probability distributions
Practical data science experience with a background in supervised and unsupervised machine learning methods
Familiarity with Alteryx and Microsoft Azure a plus
4)
Analytical Skills:
Intermediate understanding of statistical modeling, multivariate analysis, and volume response estimation techniques.
Demonstrated understanding of problem scoping / issue identification, data management, process development, modeling, and analysis
