Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for an individualto join our Data Center Engineering Operations Team. This committedgroup works to maintain the critical physical infrastructure thatsupports Amazon Web Services. Specifically, this team works toensure that the data center’s MEP operates at 100% availabilitywhile maintaining first-class customer service to the teams andgroups within the data centers. The Data Center Chief Engineer (CE)is responsible for ensuring that all electrical, mechanical, andfire/life safety equipment within the data center is operating atpeak efficiency. This involves planned preventative maintenance ofequipment, daily corrective work, and emergency response. The CEserves as an expert technical resource interacting with onsiteEngineering Operations Technicians (EOT) and any third partyvendors. They are expected to be a singular focal point for allfacility operations within a given data center and to support AWS.Key job responsibilities

  • Managing workload and leadership of DCEOEngineering Team
  • Establish performance benchmarks, conductanalysis, and prepare reports on all aspects of the criticalfacility operations and maintenance
  • Responsible for the on-sitemanagement of shift technicians, senior shift technicians,sub-contractors and vendors
  • Oversee operation and management ofroutine and emergency services on a variety of critical systemssuch as: switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distributionequipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers,building monitoring systems, etc
  • Data Center capacity planningand reporting
  • May assist in the design and build out of newfacilities
  • Work with IT managers and other business leaders tocoordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimize plant safety,performance, reliability and efficiency
  • Deliver quality serviceand ensure all customer demands are met
  • Responsible for asset andinventory management
  • Respond to out of hours emergency calls

BASICQUALIFICATIONS
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • 2 years ofelectrical and/or mechanical experience OR 2 years of data centeror mission critical facilities (example: hospital, militaryfacility, public safety facility, etc.) experience
  • 2 years of MSOffice Suite experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 4 years of DataCenter Engineering experience or critical facilities operation
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience leading teams andprojects
