Database Administrator Position Available In Richland, South Carolina

Database Administrator
Hansen Talent Group is seeking a database administrator with strong experience supporting Db2 on Linux/AIX environments. This is a full time, long-term contract position with opportunities to convert to FTE and work to convert data systems.
The database administrator will be responsible for maintaining, securing and operating databases.
They will ensure data is correctly stored and retrieved, and they will collaborate with developers on database design and troubleshooting.

Duties:

Assisting in the design and development of new databases, including creating tables, indexes, and other database objects
Setting up DB2 software and configuring databases on RHEL and AIX environments.
Moving data between databases and environments, and managing database migrations
Regularly monitoring database performance, identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing database configurations to improve efficiency
Implementing and maintaining database security measures, including access controls and user permissions, to protect sensitive data
Developing and implementing backup and recovery strategies to ensure data safety and business continuity in case of system failures.
Participating in disaster recovery planning and testing to ensure database recovery.
Creating and maintaining documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and best practices

Qualifications:

In-depth experience supporting Db2 databases
