Responsibilities The Senior Manager is accountable forall aspects of their team’s strategy, delivery of services,maintaining quality, and stakeholder satisfaction. Job dutiesinclude assisting the Director in establishing the strategicdirection of the work teams or service lines and overseeing theteam’s design & maintenance of leading practice InformationSecurity processes, tools and analytics. Also, accountable toconsistently identify and understand security and solutionimplications across multiple Mayo Clinic business areas. Supervisesthe unit/section analysts, senior analysts, and managers, whichincludes managing and prioritizing the team’s work load; approvingthe scope, milestones, and objectives of assignments; facilitatingremoval of potential roadblocks; and providing challenging &meaningful work assignments that capitalize on team memberstrengths and bolster staff satisfaction/retention. Develops andmaintains effective relationships with external vendors, auditors,regulators, and/or other business partners, as well as withmanagement across all Mayo sites. Expected to serve as strategicresource and provide awareness of internal & external environmentissues and trends, through continuous review/growth of thefollowing knowledge: security aspects of the healthcare industry,technologies, regulations, and business practices; informationsecurity frameworks, best practices, and reporting methods inresponse to increasing demand for transparency and accountability;and the enterprise’s business strategy, information assets,changing technology, and security risks/controls. Responsible toprovide written and/or verbal updates to the Mayo Clinic SecurityCouncil, as well as representing OIS on workgroups, taskforces, orcommittees, as requested by the CISO or Director. Responsible forunit/section recruitment, skill development, evaluations, andperformance management. Maintains ongoing open dialogue with staff,sharing information & knowledge at appropriate times, includingclarifying areas of concern & uncertainty. Routinely presents infront of internal or external groups, tailoring content to audienceneeds. Assists Director with execution of department management andadministrative duties, as well as strategically assessescommunication effectiveness within the department, suggestingimprovements when necessary. Travel of 20 to 25% may be required,as work activities warrant.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in InformationSystems, Computer Science, Accounting, Business Administration,Engineering, or related field is required. Master’s Degree inassociated field is preferred. Minimum of 10 years’ experience (8years’ with relevant Master’s Degree) in one or more of thefollowing areas is required: Information Security, InformationTechnology, project management, business or security informatics,audit & assurance, Enterprise Risk Management, CorporateCompliance, security architecture/design strategy, policy orcontrols development, compliance readiness assessments (i.e. PCI,SOX, HIPAA, etc.), system analysis and implementation, or relatedfunction. In addition, a minimum of 3 years of direct supervisoryor management experience is required. Working knowledge of the Mayotechnical environment and core business operations is stronglypreferred. Advanced professional and culturally astutecommunication skills (both written and verbal) are requiredincluding ability to generate and deliver executive-levelpresentations. Must possess interpersonal skills to interacteffectively with both technical and non-technical personnel at alllevels of the organization, including proven ability to confidentlylead discussion and negotiate on high risk and high pressure issueswhile simultaneously building credibility & rapport. Demonstratedability to tolerate & deal effectively with ambiguous situationsand the varying political/cultural environments within theinstitution, department, divisions. Proven ability to offerguidance on business processes, technology capability andvulnerability assessments, and control enhancements or mitigationapproaches. Solid knowledge of information security concepts andtrends, project management methodologies, and relevant healthcaresecurity regulatory requirements is required. AdditionalQualifications (preferred):
- Experience with Agile work management
- Ability to develop and implement strategies and roadmaps
- Experience with Service Delivery Management
- Experience withmetrics management – OKRs, KPIs, and KRIs
- Experience with SAFeAgile and/or Kanban work management
- Identity and AccessManagement (IAM)
Experience Licensure or Certification:
- Certifiedas HCISPP, CISSP, GSEC, CISM, or security equivalent; or willobtain certification within 2 years of hire.
