The Actuarial Analyst serves as either a member of a consulting team or an individual analyst, specializing in the enhancement, integration, and implementation of client-oriented FAST solutions. This role involves close collaboration with other actuaries and product experts, particularly in the analysis of customer product specifications and the configuration of these products using FAST’s toolset. Tasks may be conducted at the client’s site.
Operating under close supervision, the Actuarial Analyst performs assigned tasks and participates as a project resource for scheduled engagements. The designplexity of projects can range from straightforward to moderatelyplex, potentially involving single or multiple products and requiring work across variousputer environments.
The Actuarial Analyst must exhibit exceptionalmunication, interpersonal, presentation, organizational, and planning skills.

- 100% Works on single or multi-product projects, usually with multipleputer environments where design is extremelyplex.
Develop detailed understanding of customer’s products and how customer’s products will be integrated with the FAST solution collaborating with the customer’s actuarial resources.
Interview customer peers during requirements gathering exercises and documents findings.
Participate in and, will eventually, facilitate and manage design sessions regarding business functionality and/or product logic with customer(s).
Test FAST system against customer’s system.
Identify gaps between customer requirements and FAST solution and will learn to propose ideas to address these issues.
Contribute to and eventually authors detailed actuarial specifications and functional specifications from limited BSR(s), or with no BSR(s), through independent discussions with customers.
Perform product loading and values testing.
Learn and will use detailed knowledge of regulations, calculations and processing, and participates in and will eventually routinely guides detailed discussions with customers regarding at least two (2) of the following product types: UL/VUL, Traditional Products, Deferred Annuities and Immediate Annuities.
Share business knowledge with peer business analysts through mentoring and/or group presentations.
Learn functional specifications for multiple FAST solutions: Home Office, Administration, Payout Administration, Application, Underwriting, Illustrations Calculations, Illustrations and Technical Integration.
Contribute to estimating time frames, quality and quantity of resources required to successfully implement project.
Provide periodic status checks with customers and team to assess progress against plan.
Prepare status reports, as needed, on product related project activities.
10% Serve as pre-sales support and post-sales technical support specialist when needed.
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or Actuarial Science required.
Actuarial exams or ASA desirable.
College graduates, or up to 5 years in the life and/or financial services industry, relevant industry business practices, business consulting, or technical consulting preferred.
