$72K – $98K a year 1 day ago Qualifications Airframe & Powerplant License English Microsoft Office 3 years High school diploma or GED Driver’s License Aviation Senior level Communication skills Time management Full Job Description Description Summary The Aviation Chief Inspector oversees and directs all inspection activities within an aviation maintenance organization, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and quality standards. They are responsible for maintaining the integrity of aircraft maintenance and repair processes. Reports To Accountable Manager and Maintenance Head Essential Duties and Responsibilities Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned as required by management): Manages a team of inspectors and ensuring they are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties. Must be well-versed in relevant FAA regulations (like Part 145) and manufacturer’s specifications, ensuring all maintenance and repair work complies with these standards. Responsible for RTS paperwork and quality control to facilitate efficient and safe release of aircraft from maintenance work Responsible for establishing and maintaining the quality control system within the repair station, including conducting audits and investigations. Responsible updating and maintaining repair station manuals, quality control manuals, and other relevant documentation. Oversees the inspection of aircraft and components throughout the maintenance process, ensuring all work is performed to the required standards. Ensures that all documentation related to maintenance and repair work is complete and accurate. Responsible for maintaining the safety and airworthiness of aircraft and ensuring the overall quality of maintenance operations. Requirements Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required A passion for aviation. 3-5 years of experience in aviation, with 1 or more years in an inspector role Corporate aircraft type experience (Citation, Challenger, or Gulfstream) Professional appearance Critical time management and logistical problem-solving skills Attention to detail with a focus on safety and quality of work Actual work experience must include troubleshooting, use of specialized tools, ground support equipment, and the use of aircraft maintenance manuals, parts catalogs, technical reports and forms. High School Diploma or equivalent Must adhere to VLA’s company values and core conduct Must have a valid A&P License Must have a valid Driver’s License Must be able to work as a part of a team in a high stress, fast paced environment Must be a self-starter, able to work with little to no guidance Must be a highly motivated, detail oriented, organized, with the ability to multi-task. Must be computer proficient (MS Office, Aviation Maintenance Software). Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb, kneel, squat, and stand for extended periods. Must have your own tools and toolbox. Must be available to be on call Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to read, write, and speak English at an advanced level. Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States. Highly Desirable Formal Gulfstream, Cessna, or Bombardier factory training Other This position is a DOT Safety Sensitive position which will require placement in a random drug test pool.
