The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and customer service while providing reliable transportation for students, passengers, or clients. As a Bus Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that individuals reach their destinations safely and on time. This position requires excellent communication skills, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to manage behavior effectively. Responsibilities Safely operate a bus or van according to established routes and schedules. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations. Manage passenger behavior during transit, ensuring a safe and respectful environment. Educate passengers on safety procedures and rules of conduct while on the bus. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and passengers regarding route changes or delays. Provide excellent customer service by assisting passengers as needed, including those with special needs or disabilities. Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel usage, and passenger counts as required. Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving. Qualifications Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for bus driving. Previous experience in school bus driving or paratransit services is preferred but not required. Strong mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance checks on the vehicle. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with passengers and staff effectively. Ability to manage behavior in a diverse group of passengers with varying needs. Customer service-oriented mindset with the ability to educate passengers on safety protocols. Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings or late afternoons as required.
