The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing safe and reliable transportation for our students. At Bishop McGuinness, our bus drivers provide more than just safe and reliable transportation, they also serve as role models and employee-ministers for our high school students Responsibilities Safely operate a bus or transit vehicle on designated routes, ensuring timely arrivals and departures. Maintain a clean and well-functioning vehicle by conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Communicate effectively with passengers, providing information regarding routes, schedules, and safety procedures. Manage behavior among passengers to ensure a safe and respectful environment. Educate passengers on safety protocols and assist them as needed during boarding and disembarking. Respond to any emergencies or incidents promptly while following established procedures. Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including passenger counts and incident reports. Required Hours Monday-Friday afternoon route starting at 2:30pm, finishing at or around 5:30pm Option to drive morning route 6:15am-8:30am daily Option to earn additional hours driving field trips and other school events Experience Must have current CDL Class B with P and S endorsements, and a clean driving record. Experience working with children or individuals with special needs is a plus. High moral character and integrity. Ability to manage behavior in a professional manner while maintaining a calm demeanor in challenging situations.
