Full Job Description Job Description Transportation:

The primary duty is to transport individuals to and from various locations, including appointments, court hearings, foster homes, and supervised visitations.

Record Keeping:

Maintaining detailed transportation logs and incident reports is crucial.

Communication:

DFCS transporters need to communicate effectively with caseworkers regarding schedules, changes, and any necessary information.

Safety and Well-being:

Ensuring the safety and well-being of those being transported is paramount.

Collaboration:

Transporters work closely with DFCS caseworkers and other team members to facilitate services.

Adaptability:

The ability to adapt to last-minute changes and handle potentially stressful situations is important.

Qualifications and Skills:

Valid Driver’s License:

A valid driver’s license is a basic requirement.

Transportation and Car Insurance:

Reliable Transportation and Car Insurance.

Safe Driving Record:

A clean driving record is essential.

Knowledge of DFCS Protocols:

Familiarity with basic child welfare transportation procedures is necessary.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for interacting with children and families.

Patience and Empathy:

The ability to remain patient and empathetic, especially when working with vulnerable individuals, is important.

Education:

HS Diploma/GED & 1-year human services experience or a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services (does not require human services experience) & transporters must take Child Safety Seat training annually.
